Automation System 1
PLC-5 Control Chassis with Controller and Input/Output cards

Industrial automation systems are used in many manufacturing environments to produce products for consumers. They are used to increase production and reduce errors.

Some examples for manufacturing include:

  • Campbell’s Soup produces soups, Pace Picante Sauce, Spaghetti Sauce, and more.
  • Curbell Plastics manufactures plastic parts and containers.
  • Kimberly-Clark Corporation manufactures diapers, tissues, and paper towels.
  • Procter & Gamble manufactures laundry soap, peanut butter, diapers, and more.
  • Amazon & Affiliate utilize cardboard, batteries, and many other products.

Realistically, anything you can think of in your home was probably manufactured using automation systems. From the package your chicken comes in to your sheets, many things were never touched by human hands.

What We Offer

Training in Industrial Automation Systems

Our Instructor-Led training in industrial automation systems is designed to replace vendor training. Not only does it replace their training at a lower cost, but there are fewer layers to cover all the information. Where Rockwell Automation offers five levels of training on their systems, we cover the same amount of information in three layers. That’s a huge savings.

Our training philosophy is simple. We believe that if your maintenance and engineering personnel can build a system from scratch, they’ll be able to fix it when something goes wrong.

Opportunities

Building automation systems are used in most modern buildings. They’re used to control temperatures, access to sensitive areas, lighting in hallways and office spaces, and monitoring for safety and security. Some examples include:

  • A school to control the temperature of classrooms during school hours, but turn the temperatures up or down when not in use.
  • An office building to control access to specific spaces.
  • A church to control the temperature of the worship spaces before people arrive.
  • A hospital to monitor areas outside the buildings.

Even some homes use building automation to control temperature and lighting.

Think about the next building you enter. See if you can think about ways building automation could be used to control various aspects of the building.

Training Philosophy

If your employees can build a system from scratch, they’ll be able to fix it when something goes wrong.

~ Patrick O’Connor, CEO, PO Communications

Our training is instructor-led and hands-on, not remote learning using online simulators.

Where applicable, we will use your equipment, taking students through the entire process of building a system. Students program logic using real-world inputs and outputs, and using real-world examples. If you have specific programs for the students to understand, we can adjust the training to cover what they need to know.

Once done, students will be able to configure the system, establish communications, program real-world problems, and troubleshoot common errors found at the various levels of instruction.

With over 25 years of experience in industrial automation systems in the print industry, consumer products, and higher education, you’ll get what you can only hope for from other offers. Additionally, we have over five years of experience using building automation systems.

Students will use the standard Rockwell Automation suitcase trainer or an equivalent system from your resources. We’ll let you know which modules will be needed.

Additionally, if there are specific examples or instructions you’d like taught during training, just let us know.
